Isaac, from Weave Robotics (San Francisco, YC S24, founded 2024 by ex-Apple engineers who led Siri and shipped Apple Watch Double Tap), is a wheeled dual-arm home robot built to automate everyday chores — making beds, sorting clutter, folding laundry and putting things away. Deliberately un-humanoid to reach the home faster than general-purpose bipeds, it rolls on a motorized wheeled base and is fingerless (grippers, not hands), with a telescopic body that rises from about 0.9 m stowed to 1.75 m to reach furniture, beds and shelves. Its rounded head with expressive digital eyes and fabric-covered panels are tuned for living spaces. The key idea is hybrid autonomy: Isaac runs autonomously most of the time, but when it hits a task it can't finish, a remote human operator briefly teleoperates via its camera feeds and then hands control back — ensuring reliability across messy real homes.
