How we build the robot database
myrobot.shop is an independent reference catalogue covering robots of every kind — from industrial arms and surgical systems to drones, vacuums, lawn mowers and educational kits. The goal is simple: one place where any robot can be looked up, compared, and understood on the same terms. This page explains where our information comes from and how we work to keep it trustworthy.
Where our data comes from
Every entry is compiled from primary and public sources, in this order of preference:
- Manufacturer specifications — official datasheets, spec sheets and technical documentation published by the maker.
- Manufacturer websites & product pages — official descriptions, dimensions, features and pricing.
- Official press & launch materials — announcements, press kits and verified launch details.
- Reputable technical press & industry sources — established robotics and technology publications, used to fill gaps and cross-check figures.
One schema, so everything is comparable
Robots are described in wildly different ways by different makers. We normalise every entry into a single structured schema of more than 400 fields — dimensions, payload, degrees of freedom, battery, sensors, AI, connectivity and more — with consistent units throughout. That is what makes it possible to place a $400 robot vacuum and a $90,000 industrial arm side by side and genuinely compare them.
How current it is
The catalogue is updated continuously: new robots are added as they are announced or released, existing entries are revised as specifications change, and our robotics news feed refreshes daily from leading industry sources.
Accuracy & corrections
We work hard to get every detail right, but specifications change, manufacturers revise figures, and with a catalogue this large the occasional error can slip through. We would always rather be corrected than left wrong. If you spot something inaccurate or out of date, please tell us and we will review it.
How the score works
Each robot carries a score from 0–100. It is a composite reflection of capability, specifications and how the robot stands relative to others in its class — not a measure of how much anyone paid us. Which brings us to the last and most important point.
Independence & how we make money
Listings and scores are never paid for. No manufacturer can pay to be included, excluded, ranked higher or scored better. Coverage is editorial, and we list every type of robot — including toys, kits and companions — not just the "serious" ones.
Some outbound “Check price” links are affiliate links (for example through the Amazon Associates programme). If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This helps fund the catalogue — but it never influences which robots we include, how they are scored, or how they rank.
