Reflex Robotics · Humanoid · 2024
A practical wheeled humanoid from New York's Reflex Robotics (founded 2022 by alumni of Boston Dynamics, Tesla, Oculus and ASML; backed by Khosla Ventures). Rather than legs, Reflex mounts a humanoid torso with two high-strength arms and a sensor head on a compact wheeled base under 2 ft x 2 ft that turns in place, with a telescoping 'spine' that adjusts height from floor level to high shelves. Each arm lifts 25+ lbs (over twice human strength) for 50+ lbs combined, and a 180-degree articulated neck with multiple RGB cameras aids manipulation. It runs human-in-the-loop teleoperation from up to 3,000 miles away over Wi-Fi (one operator can run several robots), with 16+ hours of battery, and learns from demonstrations toward autonomy. In pilots with GXO Logistics.
