Prosper Robotics · Humanoid · 2025
A general-purpose home 'butler' robot from London's Prosper Robotics, founded in 2021 by ex-OpenAI engineer Shariq Hashme (with prototyping in Shenzhen). Alfie stands about 1.7 m and weighs over 100 kg, riding a wheeled base with two arms and pincher hands — legs were dropped as unnecessarily complex, with lifts used for stairs. It cleans surfaces and floors, rinses and loads dishes, takes out trash, sorts and folds laundry, makes beds and waters plants, and swaps between 50–100 modular tool attachments (mops, suction cups, task-specific gloves). Early units are human-in-the-loop via VR teleoperation (moving toward autonomy as data accumulates), can self-plug-in via a retractable cord, and are reviewed through a time-lapse app. Targeted at roughly $15,000 plus a monthly subscription.
Price level: ★★☆☆☆
