Pollen Robotics · Humanoid · 2024
A fully open-source bimanual humanoid from France's Pollen Robotics (acquired by Hugging Face in April 2025), launched October 2024 as a body for embodied-AI research. Reachy 2 stands 136–166 cm, weighs 50 kg, and pairs two 7-DoF bio-inspired arms — built on Pollen's Orbita 2D/3D compliant joints — each lifting ~3 kg through a parallel torque-controlled gripper. An expressive head (asymmetric eyes and antennas) plus stereo RGB, an Orbbec RGB-D and a ToF sensor give rich perception, and a three-omniwheel mobile base with RPLIDAR S2 handles navigation. VR teleoperation runs at ~125 ms glass-to-glass latency; the platform is ROS2-based with a Python SDK, LeRobot and MuJoCo/Gazebo support, and ships in single/dual-arm and stationary/mobile configurations. 100+ deployed across 20 countries.
