LimX Dynamics · Humanoid · 2024
The CL-1 is the flagship bipedal humanoid from LimX Dynamics, a Shenzhen embodied-AI robotics startup founded in 2022 and backed by $30M+ in funding. Launched in December 2023, the CL-1 became known as one of the few humanoids capable of dynamic stair-climbing using real-time terrain perception, thanks to a closed-loop system that fuses perception, gait planning, locomotion control and hardware data to adjust its motion proactively. Standing roughly 1.6 m on a 20+ DOF skeleton, it can walk over stairs, slopes and mixed indoor/outdoor terrain, recover from disturbances, and — in later demos — squat, lift and carry heavy loads up to ~80 cm placement height. Originally a pure bipedal research platform without functional hands, the CL-1 targets smart manufacturing, logistics, inspection and R&D, and is the foundation for LimX's newer, hand-equipped Oli / CL-3 generation. It remains a development/research platform (prototype pricing around US$40,000).
