K-Scale Labs · Humanoid · 2025
Billed as the first open-source humanoid robot manufactured in America, K-Bot is a full-size ~1.4 m, 34 kg bipedal platform from Palo Alto startup K-Scale Labs (Y Combinator W24). Priced at $8,999 for the first 100 units, it open-sources nearly the entire robot — hardware under CERN-OHL-S, software under GPL v3 — to spark a 'personal robotics' movement. Skills are trained in the Genesis physics simulator (sim-to-real), with vision-language-action AI on the roadmap.
