HMND 01, from London-based startup Humanoid, is a modular next-generation labor-automation humanoid engineered for industrial deployment with an explicit focus on low total cost of ownership. Standing 175 cm and 70 kg with 41 DOF, a 15 kg payload and 1.5 m/s walking speed, its standout trait is manipulation speed — hands that can move faster than a human's, via high-torque, high-speed self-developed actuators. Modularity is central: the upper body, lower body and end-effectors are interchangeable (a 12-DOF five-finger hand or a 1-DOF parallel gripper), and it comes in two Alpha forms — a bipedal version with an RL-trained whole-body controller (walking straight and curved, turning in place, sidestepping, backwards walking, squatting, hopping, running, with omnidirectional push recovery) and an omnidirectional wheeled version (up to 7.2 km/h). It runs Humanoid's KinetIQ framework (VLM + VLA based) for autonomous or teleoperated operation, with RGB plus dual depth cameras, a 6-mic array, and a head display with LEDs for multimodal interaction, and interchangeable protective garments for contamination control. Humanoid completed a bin-picking proof-of-concept with Schaeffler at its Erlangen site. NOTE: full specs from Humanoid official + humanoid.guide/QVIRO — verified; development-stage (Alpha prototypes 2025).
