A series of hyper-realistic humanoid androids from China's EX Robots (Dalian Tiasi Technology Development Co.), known for their lifelike human appearance. A mechanical metal body is wrapped in 3D-printed silicone skin over the face, hands and feet, and micro-motor actuators drive both the flexible joints and the facial 'muscles' to reproduce nuanced expressions, eye contact and gestures. Patented joint designs give an extensive range of motion. Control is via preset behaviour programs, smartphone/tablet apps and guided modes, with onboard cameras and microphones for perception and voice interaction. EX Robots is pioneering mass-production of customisable androids for service, entertainment, rescue and science-education roles.
