Clone Alpha is a musculoskeletal android for the home from Clone Robotics, a startup operating out of the US (Bay Area) and Poland. Instead of conventional electric actuators, it is animated by Clone's proprietary 'Myofiber' artificial muscles — synthetic musculotendon units, water/hydraulically powered, attached to anatomically correct points on a polymer skeleton modelled on all 206 human bones. Each ~3 g fibre responds in under 50 ms, contracts over 30% and produces ~1 kg of force, with the full android using more than 1,000 fibres for fluid, human-like motion. An NVIDIA Jetson Thor processes a suite of depth cameras under Clone's 'Cybernet' foundation model (language, vision and motor control), with skills taught via its 'Telekinesis' training platform — pre-loaded abilities include memorising home layouts, folding laundry, vacuuming, pouring drinks and making sandwiches. Clone is releasing a limited first run of 279 units in its Alpha Edition; pricing is unannounced (likened to a 'limited-edition supercar') and many hardware specs remain unpublished as it is a development-stage platform.
