Cartwheel Robotics · Humanoid · 2025
A deliberately friendly, character-like companion humanoid from Nevada startup Cartwheel Robotics, which emerged from stealth in 2025. The ~76 cm prototype carries 50+ degrees of freedom for expressive gestures and lifelike locomotion, custom actuators, a hollow skeleton for cooling, and soft medical-grade silicone skin. With a large head, rounded eyes and slightly chubby, Casper-like styling, Yogi is designed to read as 'a presence you can feel' rather than a machine. Founder Scott LaValley previously led mechanical design on Boston Dynamics' early bipeds (PETMAN) and Disney's Project Kiwi (Baby Groot).
