The BXI Elf, from China's BXI Robotics, is a human-sized open-source programmable bipedal robot aimed at embodied-AI research and sim-to-real deployment. Standing 1.45 m and just 32 kg for easy handling, it has 25 DOF (legs 2×6 with hip z/y/x, knee and dual-axis ankle; arms 5×2; 3-DOF waist) driven by BXI's own high-torque joint motors delivering up to 150 N·m at the hips and knees, and it can handle a payload over 25 kg. With an open SDK and ready-to-deploy architecture, it's designed as a testbed for algorithm development and sim-2-real transfer; BXI also sells the underlying high-performance joint motors and turnkey OEM solutions, and offers the updated Elf 3 generation.
