Beyond Imagination · Humanoid · 2021
A wheeled, teleoperated general-purpose humanoid from Beyond Imagination — the startup co-founded in 2018 by futurist Ray Kurzweil and scientist Harry Kloor. Beomni pairs a human-like upper body (articulated head, shoulders, waist, two arms and dexterous hands with opposable thumbs) with a four-wheel base that traverses mud, sand and snow. Each arm lifts up to ~15.9 kg yet can pinch a bit of salt or open a bottle. Operators pilot it via VR headset and haptic gloves with stereo vision, haptic feedback and 3D audio, while its multi-'lobe' AI brain learns from these demonstrations toward semi- and full autonomy. Debuted at CES 2022.
