The fifth-generation model in Japan's landmark HRP humanoid series from AIST, introduced in 2018 as a much stronger, more autonomous R&D platform for heavy labour and hazardous work. In demonstrations HRP-5P autonomously locates, lifts and carries large drywall panels and operates power tools. Led by Fumio Kanehiro's team, it targets practical humanoid use in construction and industry.
