Elf-Xuan 2.0 is a hyper-realistic expressive humanoid from Shanghai startup AheadForm, built around a static sculpted body and a richly animated head. Ultra-quiet brushless micro-motors drive roughly 30 facial 'muscles' beneath a modular, magnetically-attached silicone skin (a later gala build reportedly used 42 independent facial motors), producing lifelike micro-expressions and gaze. RGB cameras embedded in its pupils handle vision while built-in microphones and speakers enable real-time audio interaction, and a self-supervised AI stack with integrated LLM and VLM models generates emotional, low-latency facial responses. Developed as a fantasy elf character in collaboration with NetEase Games, Elf-Xuan 2.0 famously sang live at what was billed as the world's first robot-only gala, and targets entertainment, companionship and customer-service roles.
