Smart Lander for Investigating Moon. Demonstrated high-precision (100m) lunar landing on 19 January 2024, making Japan the fifth nation to soft-land on the Moon. Landed on its side after one of two main engines lost thrust, but achieved its primary precision-landing technology demonstration goal. Deployed two micro-rovers LEV-1 and LEV-2 (SORA-Q) before touchdown.
