PETMAN (2013) was Boston Dynamics' anthropomorphic test robot — built for the US Army to test chemical-protection suits by realistically mimicking human motion (walking, squatting, crawling) and even simulating sweat and body heat. Hydraulically actuated with dynamic balance, it was the humanoid predecessor to Atlas.
