Japan’s Gundam made real. Tsubame Industries’ Archax is a 4.5 m, 3.5-tonne rideable mecha with an enclosed cockpit: the pilot drives via joysticks and touch panels watching external camera feeds. It shifts from upright robot mode to a lowered wheeled vehicle mode. Built in a limited run for ultra-wealthy buyers at around US$2.7 million.
