FarmWise · Agricultural · 2020
FarmWise's original driverless mechanical weeder — named one of TIME magazine's 'Best Inventions of 2020' and the first-ever automated weeder to use machine learning. Diesel-powered, originally offered exclusively as a Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) at <$500/acre. Used computer vision and ML to identify crops vs weeds, then robotic blades actuated around plant stems with sub-inch accuracy. Production was discontinued after 2023, succeeded by the lighter, buyable Vulcan implement. Crops served: lettuce, broccoli, celery, cauliflower, radicchio, artichokes.
