XPeng AeroHT · Drones · 2022
A two-seat manned electric vertical-take-off aircraft from XPeng AeroHT (the flying-car affiliate of Chinese automaker XPeng), publicly flown in Dubai in 2022. The Voyager X2 is a closed-cockpit octacopter — eight rotors in a distributed-electric layout for stability and fail-safe redundancy — built around a lightweight carbon-fibre structure. It weighs about 560 kg empty, cruises around 130 km/h at low altitude (up to ~1,000 m), and offers roughly 35 minutes of flight. Sensing combines LiDAR, radar and ultrasonics with AI obstacle avoidance, and safety features include multi-rotor redundancy and a ballistic parachute. It's an early step in XPeng AeroHT's push toward a road-and-air 'flying car'.
