Volocopter · Drones · 2026
Volocopter's first product under new owner Diamond Aircraft (Wanfeng), unveiled 22 April 2026 at AERO Friedrichshafen. The VoloXPro is a fully electric, two-seat ultralight multicopter with 18 rotors and fly-by-wire controls, pitched mainly as a low-cost trainer and powered-lift transition platform (its eVTOL architecture lets pilots qualify toward types like Joby or Archer) as well as a sightseeing and, outside Europe, air-taxi aircraft. It reuses components from Volocopter's VoloCity air taxi for airliner-grade safety in the ultralight class, cruises at 70 km/h with up to ~40 km of range (26-36 km single-pilot, less as an air taxi, across three battery variants), and carries a 154 kg payload within a 600 kg European ultralight max takeoff mass (620 kg elsewhere). Base price is EUR490,000, with German ultralight certification targeted for the end of 2026.
