VEX Robotics · Educational · 2019
A tool-less, snap-together robotics platform from VEX Robotics for grades 4–8, widely used in classrooms and the VEX IQ Robotics Competition. At its core is the IQ Robot Brain with a colour screen and twelve Smart Ports that auto-detect and interchangeably drive Smart Motors (each with a built-in processor, quadrature encoder and current monitor) and sensors — Optical (colour/light/gesture), laser Distance, Touch LED and Bumper — with a 6-axis gyro/accelerometer built into the 2nd-gen Brain. A game-controller-style handheld drives it wirelessly over VEXnet/Bluetooth. Students program in VEXcode IQ using Blocks, Python or C++ across browser, Windows, Mac and ChromeOS, with automatic firmware updates via VEXos.
