Tomy · Consumer · 1984
An iconic 1980s programmable home robot from Japanese toymaker Tomy. Using a built-in cassette-tape deck, Omnibot could record and play back sequences of movements and speech, letting owners program it to roll around, speak and serve drinks from its front tray. It featured a wheeled base, remote control and a built-in clock/alarm, and became one of the most recognisable consumer robots of the personal-robot craze.
