Teledyne FLIR · Drones · 2021
Teledyne FLIR's affordable, easy-to-fly professional inspection drone, notable for having no restrictive geofencing and keeping all data local for security. Its quick-connect Vue TV128 payload pairs a 16MP visible camera with 128x zoom (20MP mapping mode) and a radiometric 640x512 FLIR Boson thermal camera (5x zoom, per-pixel temperature to about +/-5C), fused with FLIR's patented MSX technology that overlays visible-light edges onto thermal imagery. It takes off in under 60 seconds, flies up to 31 minutes on hot-swappable batteries (~45-minute charge, so three sets keep it flying continuously), and has radar-based front collision avoidance (to 30 m) plus ground detection and return-to-home. The IP54-rated, backpack-portable aircraft and its 1000-nit IP54 controller store imagery only on an onboard microSD card with no cloud connection or online profile, protecting the data chain of custody. It was designed and built with Coretronic (CIRC) in Taiwan with payload integration and QC in the USA, and targets industrial/utility inspection, firefighting, law enforcement and search & rescue.
