The Standard Bots RO1 is an AI-native American-made cobot (built in Glen Cove, New York) that pairs class-leading hardware with GPT-level no-code programming — a best-in-class 18 kg payload across 1,300 mm reach at ±0.025 mm repeatability, positioned at roughly half the price of comparable arms with leasing from about $5/hour. Its arm uses six CAN-bus joints, each with two encoders, two independent torque-sensing methods and fail-safe brakes that engage on power loss — the basis of built-in collision detection and force limiting for fenceless work. Uniquely in its class it ships with an onboard 3D machine-vision system for object detection, screen reading and pick-without-programming, and can be programmed by natural language, a no-code touchscreen, or a Python API/SDK, learning new tasks from a single demonstration. It mounts without bolting into concrete for fast redeployment. Practical limits are documented openly: default tooltip speed 0.75 m/s, with speed reduced to 25% above 16 kg payload. Standard Bots (GE Appliances partner; $63M Series B) targets high-mix machine tending, inspection and palletizing up to 30 cases/min.
