The third and final generation of Sony's original AIBO line and the first the company explicitly called a 'robot dog'. Featuring the Illume-Face LED array, capacitive touch sensors and MIND software with self-charging, face recognition and name memory, it was widely adopted in academic research and served as the RoboCup Standard Platform League robot from 2004 to 2008.
