A furry, big-eyed AI companion pet from Mengyou Intelligence — the first product from a company founded by He Jiabin, former head of ByteDance's PICO Beijing ID design team — launched via Kickstarter in late 2024 and shown at CES 2025. Ropet loves being stroked and reacts to voice, touch and gestures with cute animated-eye expressions and sounds. Cameras, microphones and sensors give it facial recognition (it knows its owner and reacts to your expressions), a 'mood radar', and the ability to recognise foods and objects held up to its face (dangle a toy hotdog and hotdogs flash across its eyes). ChatGPT integration makes it optionally conversational in 50+ languages, and its interchangeable fur, faces, eye colours and accessories make each one customisable.
