Percepto · Drones · 2022
Percepto's autonomous industrial inspection drone in its gas-detection configuration - billed as the only drone-in-a-box with an integrated OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) camera for spotting methane and other fugitive emissions. Alongside the OGI sensor it carries a 24MP RGB camera and a radiometric (FLIR) thermal camera, with an onboard Nvidia GPU running AI in real time so leaks can be flagged during the flight rather than after. It launches from and returns to the weatherproof Percepto Base, carries an FAA-compliant parachute and autonomous failsafes (low battery, GPS loss), is tested to hurricane-5 winds, and feeds all data into the Percepto AIM platform for analytics and reporting. Deployed at scale with operators such as Chevron (Permian Basin, Colorado), it earned EPA approval (Alternative Test Method MATM-14) for federal oil-and-gas methane emissions inspections in late 2025.
