Mecademic · Industrial · 2019

The Mecademic Meca500 is, by the maker's account, the smallest and most compact six-axis industrial robot arm — and one of the most precise, with ±0.005 mm repeatability (five microns) that few arms of any size match. Reach is 330 mm from the flange (260 mm from wrist) with a 500 g rated payload (1 kg maximum under conditions), from a 4.6 kg body with the controller built inside. Its design philosophy is what sets it apart: rather than a stand-alone system with a pendant and its own software suite, the Meca500 is a plug-and-work slave component that integrates into any PC or PLC over Ethernet with no training courses, installs or add-on purchases — controlled by simple TCP/IP ASCII commands, a Python API, a web interface, or industrial fieldbuses (EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) on the relevant variants. Powered by the PS200 module (90–250 VAC), offered in R3 and R4 revisions, it's a staple of precision electronics, semiconductor, lab-automation and micro-manipulation cells where footprint and accuracy dominate.
