LG · Service · 2022
LG's autonomous serving and delivery robot (model LDLIM21), launched in the US in early 2022 and named one of Time's Best Inventions of 2022 — notable as the world's first commercial service robot to earn UL 3300 safety certification for open, dynamic environments. Standing 1,339 mm tall on a compact 510 x 510 mm footprint, it carries up to 30 kg across three open shelves (10 kg each) and moves at up to 1 m/s, running as long as 11 hours on its 23,000 mAh battery (0-100% in 5 hours). It fuses LiDAR, a 3D camera, ToF and bumper sensors for obstacle avoidance, with a ToF sensor on each shelf so it knows when an item is taken and moves to the next stop. A 9.2-inch touchscreen shows cartoon eye animations and handles setup, voice and music, and cloud connectivity enables remote monitoring and free OTA updates. Used in restaurants, hotels, retail and healthcare.
