The Italian Institute of Technology's pioneering hydraulically-actuated, torque-controlled research quadruped, developed by the Dynamic Legged Systems lab. Built to study fast, versatile and robust locomotion, HyQ demonstrated dynamic trotting, jumping and rough-terrain walking and seeded the later HyQReal platform.
