Centauro, from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), is a centaur-shaped disaster-response robot: a four-legged base with steerable wheels at each foot for hybrid driving/walking, topped by a humanoid torso with two highly dexterous arms. Built largely with lightweight 3D-printed parts (~93 kg), it manipulates debris, turns valves and handles tools in environments too dangerous for people.
