Elephant Robotics · Industrial · 2021
The Elephant Robotics myCobot 280 is recognised by the IEEE as one of the world's smallest six-axis robot arms — an 800-gram desktop cobot with 250 g payload across a 280 mm working radius at ±0.5 mm positioning accuracy, and arguably the most influential education arm of its generation with over 10,000 units sold in 50+ countries. Its controller is built into the base — an M5Stack ESP32 in the standard model or a Raspberry Pi 4 in the Pi variant (860 g), with Arduino and Jetson Nano versions extending the family — so it runs from a 12 V USB-C supply with no cabinet. Programming spans Python via the open-source pymycobot API, Blockly, Arduino and official ROS/ROS 2 packages with MoveIt configs, and an ecosystem of grippers, suction pumps, camera flanges, AI vision kits and the myAGV mobile base builds it into full teaching cells. Official rated working lifespan is 500 hours, reflecting its education-class positioning.
