ELEGOO · Educational · 2019
ELEGOO's self-balancing, two-wheeled Arduino robot car - a hands-on STEM kit that teaches PID control, sensor fusion and programming. Built on an Arduino Nano with an MPU6050 6-axis IMU and a TB6612FNG motor driver, it balances itself upright on two wheels: press the command key and it tilts forward, press again and it stands back up, holding balance on its own (it stops the wheels once tilted beyond about 27 degrees). An HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and dual side infrared sensors give it obstacle avoidance and auto-follow, and it adds a 'bouncing' mode plus six switchable RGB LED light effects. It's controlled by IR remote or over Bluetooth from the ELEGOO BLE Tool app (iOS/Android), and is fully Arduino-IDE compatible so learners can modify the code and wire in extra sensors via the reserved pins. Aimed at ages 12+, around $85.
