Dronamics · Drones · 2023
The flagship of Dronamics — the world's first cargo drone airline (founded 2014 by the Rangelov brothers, Sofia/London). The Black Swan is a clean-sheet, remotely-piloted fixed-wing cargo aircraft about the size of a two-seat Cessna, carrying 350 kg (3.5 m3) up to 2,500 km at up to 200 km/h, and taking off from ~400 m unpaved strips. Built predominantly from carbon fibre and powered by a Rotax propeller engine on sustainable fuel (with hydrogen planned), it targets 'middle-mile' same-day cargo — up to 80% faster, 50% cheaper and 60% lower-emission than airfreight. It was the first large UAV to hold an EU drone-airline license (LUC) and carries IATA/ICAO codes; a defence ISR variant adds a Hensoldt PrecISR payload.
