Denso Robotics · Industrial · 2018
The DENSO COBOTTA, launched in 2018, is an all-in-one desktop collaborative robot built around portability and out-of-the-box simplicity — a 4 kg unit with the controller integrated into the arm, a 0.5 kg payload (0.7 kg with axis 5 vertical) and 342.5 mm reach, small enough to carry between benches. It targets labs, life-sciences and education, where its visually-oriented COBOTTA World tablet app lets non-programmers build pick-and-place tasks in minutes, while experts can use PacScript through the Remote TP virtual pendant or Python via ORiN/b-CAP. Safety is inherent-by-design with proprietary torque sensors monitoring torque and speed continuously on every axis, certified to ISO 10218-1 / ISO/TS 15066, and an electric gripper and 2D camera integrate directly onto the arm for force-controlled gripping and image-recognition tasks. Developed as an open platform, it slots readily into existing systems and has become a common research and laboratory-automation arm.
