Quince, developed by the Chiba Institute of Technology (with Tohoku University and others), is a tracked urban search-and-rescue robot with four articulated sub-track flippers for climbing rubble and stairs. It became known for entering the Fukushima Daiichi reactor buildings after the 2011 disaster to capture video and radiation/dosimetry data in areas too dangerous for humans.
