Baykar · Drones · 2014
Baykar's medium-altitude, long-endurance armed drone and the aircraft that put Turkey on the global UCAV map. A twin-boom design with an inverted-V tail, a straight high-aspect-ratio 12 m wing and a rear pusher prop, its carbon-composite airframe (6.5 m long, ~650 kg max takeoff weight) is driven by a 100 hp Rotax piston engine for 27 hours of endurance (it holds a 27h 3m record) at up to ~18,000-27,000 ft. It cruises around 130 km/h (top speed ~222 km/h), flies fully autonomously - including taxi, takeoff and landing - on a triple-redundant autopilot, and carries a nose EO/IR turret with laser designator (optional AESA radar) plus up to 150 kg of precision-guided munitions across four hardpoints. Combat-proven in conflicts from Nagorno-Karabakh to Ukraine, Libya and Syria, it has been exported to more than 20 countries with 355+ built.
