ABB Robotics · Industrial · 2025
ABB's high-speed collaborative-robot family, launched first for the Chinese market in July 2025 (built at ABB's Shanghai Mega Factory) and globally in 2026. PoWa - a name meant to evoke 'power' - closes the gap between light traditional cobots and rigid industrial robots, delivering industrial-grade speed and payload in a compact, fenceless package. The family spans six payload categories from 7 kg to 30 kg with a best-in-class top speed of up to 5.8 m/s and, ABB says, the longest reach and highest arm load in its class (7-10 kg on the lower arm / Axis 3, easing tool and cable mounting for arc welding). It runs ABB's OmniCore controller with built-in Power-and-Force Limiting and Speed-and-Separation Monitoring for safe shared workspaces, carries IP65/IP67 protection and ISO Class 4/5 cleanroom compatibility, and can be unboxed and running in about 60 minutes via no-code Wizard programming, arm-side buttons and plug-and-play tooling (RobotStudio / AppStudio).
