Humanoid Robots — questions & answers

Straight answers about what humanoid robots can actually do today — and what's still marketing.

Can you buy a humanoid robot in 2026?

Sort of — but most aren't consumer products yet. A few, like Unitree's G1, sell at prices a serious enthusiast or developer might pay, but the majority of full-size humanoids (from the likes of Figure, Apptronik and Tesla) are aimed at businesses, sold on a 'price on application' basis, or still in pre-order and pilot stages. If you want one for the home today, options are very limited and expensive. Browse our humanoid robots to see what's actually available versus still in development.

Can humanoid robots do housework yet?

Not reliably, and not as a product you can buy to do your chores. Humanoid robots can be impressive in demos — folding laundry, loading dishwashers, tidying — but these are mostly controlled demonstrations or early pilots, not dependable everyday performance in a real, messy home. The technology is advancing quickly, but a humanoid that genuinely does your housework on its own isn't a commercial reality yet. Treat bold marketing clips with healthy skepticism.
